Stephen Schueller, PhD

Dr. Schueller is an Associate Professor of Psychological Science and Informatics at the University of California, Irvine where he directs the Technology and Mental Health (TEAM) Lab, a member of UCI’s Connected Learning Lab. He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Schueller received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside, and his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in the Clinical Psychology Training Program as part of the Public Service and Minority Cluster at San Francisco General Hospital. 

Dr. Schuller’s research focuses on increasing the accessibility and availability of mental health resources through the use of technology, which includes the development, evaluation, and implementation of web- and mobile-based interventions for common mental health issues. In addition to support from One Mind, he has pursued his research with funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, the Jacobs Foundation, Pivotal Ventures, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He has received Rising Star Awards from the Association for Psychological Science and the International Society for Research on Internet Interventions, and a Mid-Career Investigator Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Technology Special Interest Group.
